Brownlee Foundation Mini-Triathlon Event

The Brownlee Foundation events are designed to give primary school children an introduction to the sports of triathlon, swimming, cycling and running.

Aims

The Mini-Triathlon events are fun, non-competitive and inclusive. With no need for any previous triathlon experience, children of all abilities are able to take part. Our events are free for primary schools and are aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils enabling them to try something new and have fun being active in sport.

Background

As Old Bradfordians BGS was an obvious choice for Alistair & Jonny to host one of their first events.

Resources

BGS hands over the pool, pavilion and the playing fields to the foundation for the day. Year 12 pupils also assist the foundation's staff and volunteers in the running of the day.

Impact

Since 2014 20000 children have enjoyed a Foundation event; over 1500 children benefitted from the foundation's 2018 programme.

Primary school children form local both the independent & state sector.
