Art partnership with The Holburne Museum, Bath

We are pleased to announce that King Edward’s School has agreed a two-year partnership with The Holburne Museum.

This valuable support will enable the museum’s learning and engagement team to grow its inspirational activities for local school children and young people who face barriers to accessing creative and cultural opportunities.

The Holburne is an independent charity which receives no core public funding, and is dependent on the support of the local community, donors, and partners to deliver its work.

Since 2021, The Holburne has fostered close, long-term relationships with six partner schools in the city: Three Ways School, Widcombe Junior School, St Michael’s Junior Church School, Paulton Junior School, St Philip’s C of E Primary School and St Saviour’s Junior Church School.

Aims

Through this partnerships programme, The Holburne aims to reduce the disparity in access to creative and cultural experiences for local children and their wider school communities, by providing free opportunities to engage with and experience the museum.

Background

The Holburne Museum and KES Bath have worked in partnership for a number of years, with KES pupils attending workshops and exhibition at the museum, and KES hosting various events at the museum and sponsoring exhibitions and arranging state school visits to the museum as part of its sponsorship of exhibitions.

Announced in January 2026, the new two-year partnership announced in January 2026 formalises this working partnership, with the sponsorship package provided by KES going further in supporting the Museum's Learning and Engagement programme, as well as continuing to enrich opportunities for KES pupils.

Resources

The school provides financial sponsorship to the Museum in support of its exhibitions, outreach work for local state schools and learning opportunities for KES pupils. The partnership will run for two years.

Impact

At the end of two-year partnership we will be able to assess the success of the partnership through a number of outcomes including the number of state school workshops/visits taking place, and feedback from the schools themselves.

Pupil Involvement

The partnership is primarily supporting primary aged pupils with access to the museum.

Frequency

This is a two-year partnership with ongoing events throughout.
