Y3 and Y4 Junior Technology Challenge Day

Similar to the Year 5 and Year 6 challenge, girls are solving a 'design and make' task which will involve them in thinking, planning, constructing and presenting on the day.

Aims

The girls were asked to design a visitor attraction train that would run on a test track and to create the travel company branding before presenting to the judges.  The panel was made up of judges from the University of Portsmouth’s Engineering Department, CCT.co and BAe Systems.

Background

This has now been running for six years.

Resources

We use school resources and facilities and use teaching and non-teaching staff.

Pupil Involvement

4 from Portsmouth High School and 24 from visiting primary schools.

Frequency

Annually.
