Community Art Project

To provide an opportunity for the expression of a personal connection to our city through the creation of individual and unique ‘tiles’ - in conjunction with Portsmouth Rhode Island, USA.  Culminating in exhibition at Portsmouth Cathedral, displays around the city and an auction by sealed bids for the Sixth Form's charity.

Aims

The community art project, ‘My Portsmouth’ brought together the work of over 50 artists from Portsmouth, UK and Portsmouth, USA. The school invited artists from the local community to create an MDF tile to reflect ‘My Portsmouth’ using any medium.  Across the Atlantic, Portsmouth Rhode Island asked the same of its community.  The project culminated with an exhibition at Portsmouth Cathedral.
