Whitley Reading Buddies Programme

As part of the Oakleaf Diploma, all Y12 students visit Whitely Schools on Fridays to read with KS1 and KS2 children.

Reading buddy training is led by borough charity ABC to READ an allows Y12 to build confidence, a sense of purpose and acts of service a spart of their Sixth Form exoerience. WEC Schools approach LP to include this as part of their literary drive and bring groups into comuical spaces for supervised, targeted reading support. 

Aims

To offer more opportunities to read aloud to students from Whitley Schools in Reading.

 

To build in values led opportunities of service for our Sixth Form students.
