Super Chef - Be Inspired Year 5

Our SpringTerm Super Chef competition invites Year 5 groups from 4 x primary schools into our Food Tech room with our specialist staff to create amazing treats building towards a final in February.

Children love to cook but few primary schools have acess to a cooking space like ours at Leighton Park.  

We want to share our resources, skills and passion for food thus inspiring tomorrow's Jamie Olivier or Mary Berry to get creative in the kitchen!

The 4 best chefs from each of the 4 schools join us for a sumptious afternoon tea to celebrate getting to the final. Bunting and pink lemonade included!

Aims

We aim to expose KS2 students to food tech in a fun and engaging way.

We are aware that primary schools find teching food tech a challenge due to lack of resources and specialist staff.

Cookery is one of most popular clubs at Leighton Park in Year 7 and 8, so we know there is an appetite to learn this skill!

Resources

Leighton Park provides transport to and from the school site, ingredients and tools to cook with plus lunch for those students attending the first stage of the competition and grand final.
