AMICUS - our student led charity group
AMICUS is our student led charity working group.
15 students from across Year 12 and Year 13 develop an annual programme of events from mufti days to the reading Family Aid Toy Appeal and the Christmas Shoebox appeal in order to change lives.
Charities benefiting from fundraising through AMICUS events in the last year have included and exclusive to; MIND, Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs, Antibullying Scheme and Red Balloon.
Aims
AMICUS aims to harness student engagement to fundraise for charities close to the hearts of our school community.
Through a series of events they aim to raise money for charities in the local Reading Community.
AMICUS spread awareness of local issues through assemblies and collect in school and social media streams.
Background
AMICUS is led by 6th form students and overseen by a member of staff.
They meet weekly to plan termly events.
Resources
Student engagement is crucial to the success of AMICUS and is partially funded by the school.

A mix of boys and girls make up the AMICUS team from our sixth form.
