Virtual Choir

Brighton College's Head of Musical Outreach reached out to different schools to create a virtual choir.

Aims

During lockdown many schools could not provide the co-curricular opportunities that they had previously, and many pupils were missing this creative outlet. We also heard from our partner schools that pupils were missing social contact and being part of a project.

This project aimed to bring together different communities as a virtual choir.

Background

This project came about through the existing links between BC and LAE Stratford, and LAE Stratford reached out to LAE Tottenham 

It has become an annual event, having started in 2020.

Resources

This uses the expertise of the music dpt at Brighton College and the IT support team.

The BC music department is able to loan the use of specialist equipment for future years when pupils can record in schools instead of at home.
