Enrichment Lecture Series

Brighton College has a busy programme of external speakers visiting the school to give subject specific talks or those appealing to a wider audience. Where possible, these talks are opened to students and staff of local schools in Brighton and Hove.

Background

Many of our visiting speakers are highly sought after, and schools are keen to offer pupils in their schools a broad range of opportunities.

Resources

Talks are staged in one of our large venues, invites are sent out to targeted local schools by talk organisers and coordinated by staff with the help of our co-curriculum administrator.

During lockdown they were hosted online and made available to schools in this way.

Impact

Pupils and staff are surveyed after each talk, and asked to submit suggestions for future speakers and topics. In this way, good relationships are built and maintained with local teachers and schools. We intend to track attendance at future talks and post-16 subject and course choices to measure impact.

Pupil Involvement

All ages, from a wide range of schools in Brighton and Hove and also LAE (sponsored academy).

Frequency

Ongoing.
