Under 10 and 11 Cricket development

Due to restrictions in facilities and expertise, we want to develop the Cricketing opportunities for state school pupils' in our local area. The aim is to develop Cricket skills and understanding of both pupils' and teaching staff. 

Aims

The aim is to develop pupil’s skills and understanding of Cricket along with the understanding of staff with in their schools.

Background

The project was initiated by Littlegarth School.  After consultation with the teachers in charge of Physical Education in local state schools Littlegarth agreed to host a series of “master classes” annually.   The "master classes" looked to develop pupils cricketing core skills and understanding of play.  From the initial project, facilities are now shared with the partnership schools who use the facilities at Littlegarth School to host matches. 

Resources

The “master classes” are held using the Littlegarth School. Teachers from Littlegarth along with invited ECB coaches led the “master classes.”

Impact

The “master classes” are well received and attended annually.

Pupil Involvement

Year 5 and 6 boys and girls.

Frequency

Held annually during the summer term the project takes place over a six week period for two hours a week.
