Cross Country For All

Local state primary schools have an annual Cross Country competition held in the local area for "A" teams. There are no other such events in the area for "B" or "C" runners. We wanted to host a fun but competitive event for all.

Aims

To allow pupils of all abilities to enjoy a fun but competitive Cross Country event.

Background

Littlegarth is set in grounds which are ideal for Cross Country running. In consultation with teachers from our local state primary schools, the need for a more inclusive Cross Country event was highlighted. The combination of need and provision would allow such an event to successfully run.

Resources

The event is hosted and run by staff from Littlegarth School. Competing schools are to be collected and returned by coach, organised and funded by Littlegarth. 

Impact

Pupils will get the opportunity to take part in a "new" event to them.  It is hoped they will enjoy the event and will decide to continue to run in their own time.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils will be boys and girls from years three and four.

Frequency

This annual event will take place in the spring term.
