A musical in a day

The idea of the project is to bring together pupils from both a state and independent school and put on a musical to parents after just one day!

Aims

The aim is to bring pupils together on a joint musical project.  Music is an area for development in many state schools and the planned project would be an opportunity to collaboratively share expertise in this area. 

Background

We (Littlegarth school) approached a number of local state primary schools to see if there were any areas curriculum or non-curriculum they wished to develop.  Music was identified by one of the schools as an area to develop and they were keen to explore what could be done.  We have worked on plays in a day before with our own pupils and saw an opportunity to do a similar thing with music.

Resources

The project will be hosted at Littlegarth school and run by our staff.  Pupils attending the project will be collected by coach.

Impact

The pupils will have one day to practice and perform.  The anticipated outcome is an improved understanding of the musical process for pupils and staff attending.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils will be from year three and four from both state and independent schools.

Frequency

The event will run over one day during the Summer term annually.
