Sisters 'n' Sport National Netball Cup

Working in partnership with Sisters 'n' Sport, The Grange's Netball staff developed a national competition that all school teams could participate in. 350 teams took part in the knockout competition with the finals taking place at The Grange School Sports Centre.

Aims

The key aim of the partnership was to enhance existing sports provision by establishing a national netball tournament that all schools could take part in.

Central to the success of the project was the expertise of both teams in devising an enticing competition and delivering a well-organised tournament.

Over 2,500 students took part in the tournament, directly benefitting from an additional competition. This was a great opportunity for all schools to take part in a high quality netball and challenge themselves to the highest levels.

Background

This was a joint collaboration between Sisters 'n' Sport and The Grange's netball staff, which was a new initiative in 2018-19.

Pupil Involvement

The competition was available to all schools. In total 350 teams competed, from both the independent and non-independent sector. Again, all students were across 6 age groups - from U11 to Senior level. The final took place at The Grange Sports Centre on 26th & 27th March 2019, with The Grange hosting 12 teams in total and their supporters. On the day this amounted to 800 people on site.
