Impact of partnership work done in 2024 (ISC annual Census 2025)
Impact Statement
In July around 200 children came to the Senior School for a range of exciting and challenging subject based workshops. This year we held workshops in Art, English, Maths and Physics. Children were from three different primary schools who we have been actively building relationships with – Kingsmead Primary, Winnington Park Primary and Hartford Manor. We provided the transport where the schools could not meet the costs themselves and all workshops and resources were free of charge to all participants.
Winnington Park Primary – As part of the Level 2 Sports Leaders Programme, a team of 14 Year 11 students have contributed to Winnington Park Primary’s sport provision between September 2017 and March 2018. In addition, 13 GCSE and A Level French students supported their whole school event, where Grange students were encouraging conversational French.
Kingsmead Primary - Our Head of Outdoors Learning delivered Geology lessons during their ‘Science Week’, with a focus on experiments with fossils.
Our Head of Outdoor Education has also provided outreach work to two local primary schools; Lostock Gralam Primary and Victoria Road School. An educational programme was carefully planned and prepared before being delivered to the pupils. Activities took place in the schools themselves, at our school and at Marbury Park.
We are actively building relationships with these and a number of other primary partners. Further to this The Junior School hosted a NorthWest Gifted & Talented Writing Workshop, where years 3 to 5s from a variety of different schools undertook a writing challenge with the chance to meet and work with an author.
At secondary level, our PE department ran combined netball training with Hartford High for approximately 80 pupils between January and March 2018. Our Head of Art supported the art and design departments with the new GCSE specification at Eaton Bank and Sandbach schools. Similarly the Geography department ran a TeachMeet in November 2018 for 20 colleagues from various northwest schools to discuss the new GCSE Geography specification Both the History and Politics departments undertake curriculum planning and resource sharing with Wirral Grammar. In March 2018 our Art department ran continuing professional development on Printmaking and Photoshop for 23 art and design teachers. In addition to this our Head of PSHE, arranged a LGBT Training Day in June 2018 for staff from local schools.
