Outreach by Grange School Digital Leaders

As part of the dissemination of their training, The Grange School Digital Leaders created and led an online safety workshop, working with Winnington's Year 6 cohort.

Aims

Enhancing existing educational provision
Sharing of good practice
Providing leadership experience for Grange students

Winnington Park Primary School pupils having a clearer sense of how to be safe online, whilst Grange School Digital Leaders add to their presentation skills.

The partnership is mutually beneficial as Winnington Park pupils gain an enhanced appreciation of how to be safe online whilst Grange students get the opportunity to disseminate their knowledge and enhance their skills.

Background

Following previous partnership work, the opportunity arose from communication between the Senior Leadership teams at both schools.

This is a new occurrence for 2019.

Resources

Critical to the success of the project is and the time spent by the Digital Leaders team (both staff and students) and the liaison with Winnington Park to ensure provision meet their requirements.

Resources used include:

Time and efforts committed by Grange School teaching staff.

Time by Grange School students.

Impact

Qualitative benefits of the activity include: Positive feedback from partner school staff & students 

The assessment was carried out after the last workshop in June 2019.

Pupil Involvement

4 Grange School students from Years 8 & 9 delivered the workshop, alongside a Grange school member of staff.

The workshop was delivered to 41 Year 6 pupils from Winnington Park Primary School.

Frequency

This was the first time that this partnership event has occurred and it is hoped that this collaboration will continue in future.
