Pickard Street Volunteering Programme

Year 9 boys get the opportunity to meet with local retired residents for an hour every Friday afternoon for games, fun, company and a cup of tea and a biscuit at the Pickard Street Community Centre. 

This initiative welcomes all senior citizens, and gives the boys an opportunity to form friendships and gain genuine personal enrichment. Our guests benefit from regular company, they enjoy interacting through conversation and playing board games. 

The boys learn how to make hot drinks and serve our guests, who genuinely enjoy the fact the boys prepare the refreshments. This initiative is offered to all Year 9 boys throughout the year.
