Partnership with Wirral Symphonic Wind Band

Provision of facility for weekly Monday practice, and concert venue in Bushell Hall, Birkenhead School e.g. Gala Concert.

Aims

To provide a rehearsal and performing space (and some storage for instruments) for the Wirral Symphonic Wind Band.

Background

Birkenhead School's Director of Music is now the conductor of the Wirral Symphonic Wind Band.

Resources

Provision of rehearsal and performance space and the staffing and utilities that go with that. A token weekly fee is applied.

Pupil Involvement

A number of the more able student musicians in seniors will play with the Symphonic Wind Band, and will further develop as musicians as a result.

Frequency

Weekly rehearsals with annual/biannual concerts.
