'Be Inspired' Programme
An annual enrichment programme for Year 5 children from local primary schools during the Summer Term at Birkenhead School. the program runs for four-weeks on Saturdays for approx. 30 Year 5 students from local primary schools.
Aims
To inspire the children across a number of areas - academic, sport, music, public speaking, drama, leadership etc - and to help prepare them for transition to secondary school.
Background
A staff initiative to inspire children within the local area who otherwise might not have access to such facilities or enrichment activities.
This is the third year of the programme.
Resources
Teaching, Support Staff and Sixth Form Volunteers from Birkenhead School across four Saturdays
Using the academic, sporting and wider facilities at Birkenhead School.
Transport, breakfast, lunch and all required materials are all provided at no cost to the pupils or their schools.
There is no cost for the children attending.
Impact
The impact of the programme is not formally measured, although the impact is clear from the observed enjoyment and learning/confidence gained by the children.

Approx. 35 Year 5 pupils from local primary schools.
