Girls' Football Partnership with MUWFC
MUWFC offer our pupils opportunities in girls' football in return for use of our minibuses. This enables MUWFC to remain in their current league.
Aims
At the centre of this partnership is the desire to put Bradfield at the centre of promoting girls’ football in the local region, capitalising on the increased exposure the women’s game is currently enjoying. In return for the opportunities our girls would receive, Bradfield would provide additional support for MUWFC to continue performing at the current level by offering use of Bradfield College Minibuses.
Background
Since 2020, Bradfield College has been recognised as a Football Association Girls’ delivery partnership school where the goal is to build a sustainable infrastructure of schools committed to developing the girls’ game. As part of this partnership, Bradfield are involved in girls’ football within ISFA (Independent Schools Football Association). Sarah Thompson (Head of girls’ football) sits on the ISFA executive girls football committee where she is the organiser of the U18 South girls’ football league and is also involved in the U18 girls’ National coaching team. Additionally, as a partnership school, Bradfield are involved in organising events to encourage girls to get involved in football – such as the prep school girls football tournament in 2019 and a partnership with girls football at Theale Green. Future plans in 2023 in relation to this project include both an U18 girls football tournament and an U11 primary school girls football tournament.
This partnership began in September 2022

Pupil Involvement
· Girls will have the opportunity to play a match during pre-season training camp with a local football team, as well as other points across the season, rather than having training or travelling long distances.
· Girls within the Bradfield College football programme will have the opportunity to play competitive club football outside of school, should they wish, which gives them the opportunity to play at a higher level and offer training outside of the academic Lent term.
· Players at the Secondary School girls football tournament hosted at Bradfield College on Saturday 4th February will have the opportunity to be refereed by local female players from MUWFC.
· Girls within the football programme will have the opportunity to come and watch a MUWFC match at York Road and be involved in match day experience as ball girls.
· Bradfield College will get an increased exposure to being supporters of girls’ football in the local community. This will help their eligibility as a Football Association Girls’ delivery partnership school and as an ISFA girls’ hub.
