Food and Nutrition Sessions
15 students from Year 5 had the opportunity to learn some cookery skills at Bethany School.
The children were collected every Thursday afternoon for 6 weeks and made humous, salsa and other tasty dishes.
Aims
To offer the opportunity of Food and Nutrition sessions to Year 5 Primary aged students who would otherwise not get much opportunity to do any cooking classes.
Background
A staff member in the admissions and marketing team contacted the Headmistress at Brenchley and Matfield Primary school to see if they would be interested in these sessions.
Resources
The students had use of the extensive Food Technology facilities and staff.
This was for 6 weeks for 15 students.
These sessions were delivered free of charge.
Impact
The children thoroughly enjoyed these hands on sessions and got to take all their creations home to share with their family.
