Bushcraft Session at Local Forest school
Head of Outdoor Learning and Bushcraft expert at the Bethany School attended a forest school session for Goudhurst & Kilndown Primary School.
Aims
This interaction was to show some of the woodcarving skills taught at the sessions provided as activities to Bethany Students.
Background
This was identified by the Forest school leader at the local primary school.
Resources
The Head of Outdoor Learning and Bushcraft visited the designated Forest School site that Goudhurst and Kilndown Primary school use on a daily basis. He provided his own tools for the session.
Impact
The children enjoyed watching the demonstration of whittling and carving. They were fascinated that a piece of wood can be turned into a spoon.
Pupil Involvement
Year 5 - 30 - boys and girls.
Frequency
This was a one off but we are hoping to set up more session in the future.
