Community Enrichment

Community Enrichment Project - Care Homes

Sixth Form pupils spend a Wednesday afternoon visiting and talking to the people in our local care homes. This program encourages volunteering for our pupils and support for local care homes and their residents. The boys are unaccompanied and visit every Wednesday afternoon during the school terms.

Pupils providing support in local charity shops

Our pupils support local charity shops by offering to work in them on a Wednesday afternoon. The aim of this outreach program is to provide support for local charities who conduct work in the community while also providing volunteering and service opportunities for our students in the local area. The member of staff in charge of volunteering sought out opportunities for our students to support charity work in the local area. Each year they contact local charities and ask how we might help them. One member of staff arranges the opportunities and mentors the students. Pupils in Years 11 - 13 are currently involved in this support.
