Book Fest (annual event)

The STAHS book festival is designed to engage children across the county in literature and reading.

Aims

To engage primary-school children in literature through a day of fantastic literary activities, including meeting and hearing from key children’s authors and illustrators, an art competition, and an inter-schools reading contest.

Impact

Over 720 primary students across four schools in Luton and St Albans were visited by leading children’s authors and illustrators as part of the week-long celebrations. Over 600 people from the local community attended the book festival itself.

Frequency

A week of activities, culminating in a day-long festival.

 

The event is held annual in June. The next event is on June 15.
