Woodfield Bicycle Project
3 pupils from our Student Consultancy acted as consultants for Woodfield School which is a school for pupils aged 3–19, with severe and complex learning difficulties, situated in Hemel Hempstead. They researched and came up with a business plan for the school to set up a bike repair shop – this would give the Woodfield pupils opportunities to learn basic bike mechanics as well as upcycle old bikes. The consultancy ran thorough market research, looked at training provision and costs, competitors, and demand. This then helped the school decide if running this type of project was feasible.
Woodfield were very impressed with the results, the professional manner in which the students had conducted themselves and the time it had saved them.
Aims
To provide some consultancy for Woodfield that they would otherwise have had to outsource from the external market whilst also giving our own students the opportunity to further develop their research skills.
