Wealden Hub - Music
The Wealden Hub was created in October 2021 and comprises of a collection of local West Kent schools, with Benenden School taking a central role in leading initiatives. The key theme is to offer local schools opportunities to access a wide range excellent quality extra-curricular events which benefit their students.
Aims
The partnership is aimed at providing opportunities for local schools in Kent. The music element of the hub the first of a planned annual day long orchestral introduction, working with the Kidenza charity.
There was a healthy up take of local primary schools with Benenden providing transport to two schools, ensuring an additional 89 pupils were able to attend.
In total there were 475 pupils benefitted from this event.
Background
This was the first large partnership event of the new academic year.
There is a pre-covid relationship between Kidenza and Benenden and following the success of this latest event we are keen to continue this initiative.
Resources
Benenden provide 9 pick up and drops to enable 2 schools to attend the event.
The event was at no cost to the all the school invited.
Throughout the day refreshments were provided.
The event last a day and there were two separate concerts.
Impact
There was a mixed method of benefit assessment - quantative: the number pupils (475)and range of schools (11).
Surveys were completed of the schools and letters of thanks received from all the pupils of one school.

The age range was from Y3 - Y8.
