Wealden Hub - Early Careers Teachers Conference
An annual event which invites early career teachers from across the region to take part in a conference, focusing on relevant subjects. The event lasts from 0900 - 1615, with a range of Benenden School speakers and external experts in the subjects of memory, the brain and body language.
Aims
The ECT is aimed at inspiring teachers new to the profession. It provides an opportunity for learning and engagement as well the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the sector.
Using the connections Benenden has within the region we have been able to bring together representatives from 27 schools to take part in the second annual conference.
This conference benefits 12 maintained schools and offers all with free, high quality training in a range of subjects, from how to deal with behaviour, to teaching students with ADHD.
Background
Benenden staff are keen to engage with colleagues from across the sector to share and collaborate. This initiative has grown out of that desire. Following the success of the inaugural event last year we have grown scope and range of schools attending.
Resources
The ECT conference takes place in Benenden School, with all the administration and support provided by staff in the School. There are four members of staff from Benenden presenting and the Science School is being used as the venue.
There 62 attendees for the day which runs from 0900 - 1615.
