St Stephen's Volunteering Programme

Every Wednesday afternoon a group of 6th form pupils volunteer to support teachers in KS1 & KS2 classes at St Stephen's Primary School, Bury.

Their primary focus is on developing the reading skills of pupils.

Aims

The aim of the scheme is to increase confidence in reading among the primary pupils and to encourage leadership and mentoring skills for the sixth-form volunteers.

Resources

Teaching staff time away from school duties.

Pupil Involvement

Indirectly pupils from Reception to Year 6.
