Sports Leaders and local primaries
Shoreham College hosted a sports afternoon of fun activities for local primary schools in the summer.
Aims
The aim of the project was to provide Shoreham College sports grounds for local primaries to enjoy.
The local primaries are under-resourced in terms of facilities, and obviously do not have access to older pupils who led the sessions, with staff.
The local primaries would benefit from having access to our 11 acre green site, as well as the older pupils.
Background
Staff at Shoreham College identified a need working with our Head of Leadership and Skills.
The project took place for the first time in the summer.
Resources
Shoreham Collge's playing fields.
Shoreham College's staff and senior pupils.
One afternoon in the summer.
Impact
The pupils were introduced to a range of sports skills, in a series of stations, led by senior pupils.
The primary pupils were able to access the tremendous grounds and become involved in confidence building sports activities.
Pupil Involvement
Pupils were upper key stage 2.
Frequency
We hope to repeat the event each year.
