Mandarin taster session

An offering to a local primary school to visit The Oratory School for a Mandarin taster workshop.

Aims

To support primary school provision and offer an activity and learning that would not ordinarily be available in primary school.

Background

Our EAL department wanted to reach out to local schools to share our Mandarin teaching and offer an introduction to children who wouldn't normally access the subject.

Resources

Oratory Teaching staff, Oratory pupils and a classroom.

A minibus was provided to transport the children to and from the school, there was no charge for this. 

Lunch was also provided at no charge to the participating school.

Pupil Involvement

5 Oratory pupils (boys and girls) from Years 9-12.

Frequency

Our aim is for this to become a long-standing partnership and we are hoping that this will run again in the next academic year.
