Leathersellers’ Scholarship Programme at Colfe’s School
Colfe’s School has strong links with the City of London, in particular the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers, one of the City’s great livery companies. Each year the Leathersellers’ fund free Sixth Form places for able pupils from local state schools to study for their A-levels at Colfe’s.
“I was nervous about coming to Colfe’s at first, I wasn’t sure I would fit in to a private school but everyone here is so friendly. I settled in really quickly. I know I wouldn’t have done so well if I hadn’t come here.”
Leathersellers' Scholar (2014 Leaver)
80% of Colfe’s 2016 leavers gained places at their first-choice university and former Leathersellers’ Scholars are now studying at some of the country’s leading Russell Group institutions including Oxford and Cambridge.
To gain a Leathersellers’ Scholarship place at Colfe’s applicants need to achieve at least five A* at GCSE, pass the entrance exam and qualify for the government’s pupil premium.
“I have enjoyed every moment at Colfe’s. I have been back to Conisborough to tell students to take the chance of coming here… because it’s life changing. You have to work hard but it is an amazing school, friendly and encouraging.”
