Year 13 students visit local Primary Schools each week to deliver an innovative PE and Games programme. The Clinical Commissioning Group (Hull) help to pay for the training of the sixth formers.
The aim is to beat the obesity epidemic within Hull schools. The lessons are highly active and great fun with an emphasis on inclusion.
The Headmaster approached the CEO of Kings Foundation and suggested the idea.
We visit three local Primary Schools and deliver the programme to large numbers of children.
We assessed how many children were impacted by the programme in its first year and it came to over 300.
Sixth Formers are all aged 17 - 18 and they teach students from Year 1 through to Year 4 at Collngwood Primary, Hessle Mount and St Richards schools.
The project runs from September to February each academic year.
