Impact Statement

We hosted an Orchestra Day, inviting local state schools to bring any children who play an instrument for a practice session with our Peripatetic teachers, and then to join our orchestra, putting a performance on for all of the parents. For most of the children, it was the first opportunity they had been given to play with an orchestra. Approximately 10 hours of staff time went into organising and putting this event on.

We hosted the Annual Spelthorne Chess Championships, where children are given the opportunity to take part in a chess competition in U9, U11 and U13 category. Invitations go to all the local schools. Approximately 5 hours of staff time goes into the organisation of this event.

Bursaries are available from the Burges Bursary Fund, to both existing and new parents joining the School.  Awards are made up to 50% of fees for pupils in years 1-6.

Bursaries are reviewed annually to ensure that the families most in need of the funds are supported.

  • Sibling discounts
  • Bursaries for new entrants
  • Hardship awards for existing pupils
