Impact Statement
The Aldworth Partnership is a project that links Reading Blue Coat School with many state schools in the local area. The relationship between our schools is of mutual benefit and we can support each other in the development an learning of our pupils. Every week, our students visit pupils to run sporting activities and 20:20 clubs. Furthermore, we run weekly drama, music and dance workshops to help widen the extra-curricular provision in local state schools. These joint projects have enable us to maintain a symbiotic relationship that benefit's all involved. In addition to this, we work with a number of charities including local foodbanks, clothing and crisis charities, and local sporting venues. This helps the wider community and enables our students to further develop and refine their interpersonal skills.
As well as our work within the community we offer our partnership schools use of our facilities to support educational activities. This includes the use of the pool, woodland, river access and science labs to name a few. Every year RBC pupils lead academic Geology, DT and ICT sessions on site to primary school pupils. We host sporting events throughout the year; provide use of meeting rooms and refreshments for a local primary school, aswell as offering activities days that include science, forest school and DT to primary school pupils.
