St. Andrew's: Loan of Minibuses to Woking Primary Schools Football Association

St. Andrew's learned of the annual residential trip to Lilleshall for the Woking PSFA and offered the loan of two of its minibuses free of charge. The trip involved two minibuses travelling to Lilleshall for the duration of the visit (three days) in 2016 and 1 minibus in 2018.

Aims

We identified that the parents of the children travelling to Lilleshall would all have to pay transport costs to hire minibuses for the residential trip. The children represent many local Woking Schools. By loaning the minibuses St.Andrew's enabled the families to save on the substantial transport costs for the 300+ mile round trip.

Background

One of the staff at St. Andrew's was aware of the trip and (having gained approval from St. Andrew's) approached the Woking PSFA to offer the minibuses. 

Resources

This initiative required the use of two minibuses (in 2016 and 1 in 2018) and admin time to check the drivers' details on the DVLA website and co-ordinate the pickup/drop off of the minibuses.

Impact

The Woking PSFA parents were delighted to be able to use the St. Andrew's minibuses, saving approx. £20 per head on the cost of the trip.

Pupil Involvement

Boys and girls aged 10/11 from schools in the Woking area benefited (approximately 30 in total in 2016 and 15 in 2018).
