Languages enrichment

We are currently working together to promote the study of modern foreign languages through enrichment opportunities. We are currently sharing a British Council German Language Assistant (2018-19) and have also brought our pupils together to watch shared MFL plays. 

Aims

The main aim of the project is to promote the study of MFL at secondary level at a time when the take up of languages GCSEs and A levels are in decline nationally. We are looking for opportunities to enrich our students' cultural understanding and instill a love of language learning. 

Background

The partnership was developed through a link between the two Heads of Languages in 2017.

Resources

In 2018-19, NHEHS is funding a British Council German Assistant to work in both schools. She is supporting the teaching of German across the age range and working with us to promote the teaching of German.
