Hosting local care home residents

As part of St Margaret's Day celebrations, sixth formers hosted residents from a local care home for tea. Younger students performed music and entertained the residents with afternoon tea and a show.

To foster long term relationship between the care home and the school. To offer opportunities for service to our students.

Background

St Margaret's is seeking to create long term sustainable relationships with local care homes as part of annually beneficial partnership to develop skills of hosting and kindness in our students.

Resources

School hall, staff time in rehearsal and hosting, students' time.

Impact

A relationship has been developed with the care home with students also visiting the home and singing to the residents on another occasion.

Pupil Involvement

More than twenty Year 10 and above students from St Margaret's.

Frequency

This was a one-time event but proved so successful that we intend to repeat it annually.
