Combined Cadet Force Partnership
Bedford Modern School CCF was established in 1900 and is attended by boys and girls from BMS, Bedford Free School, Rushmoor and St Andrews School.
The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) comprises of three sections: Royal Navy, Army and RAF, each offering different opportunities to the students involved.
Cadets are expected to attend parades each week, take part in one or two training weekends per year and have the chance to attend camps and courses in the holidays.
There are a host of development opportunities for cadets ranging from basic dingy sailing and offshore yachting to overseas climbing and Teaching and Instruction courses. In addition, every section provides dedicated Leadership and Development training to their cadets.
Aims
The CCF aims to develop self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance, leadership and resilience in a fun, active and disciplined environment.
Resources
Staff time and resources such as transport, storage space, kit, equipment and consumables.
Pupil Involvement
148 cadets aged 13-18, including 28 cadets from Bedford Free School.
14 members of staff, including four from the wider community.
