Arts in Action

Arts in Action provides pupils from Truro High School for Girls and surrounding local schools to engage in the performing arts.

Students from primary schools around Truro were invited to see a production of "Sister Act" and to meet and question the cast.

We also partnered with ten local secondary schools to provide dance workshops for pupils as part of the Truro Combined Arts Project.

Aims

Children benefit greatly from experience of the Creative Arts and many primary schools do not have the facilities and specialists to provide such lessons.

By attending the live performance and then having the opportunity to question the cast and learn more about the staging of the show, the children were inspired and made aware of the many opportunities available in performing arts.

To provide pupils of secondary schools with access to studio dance facilities that they would otherwise not have the opportunity to use. Students learn the importance of dance in the Creative Arts and the curriculum in general.
