Impact Statement
We have an established programme with our local primary school of inviting them (most recently years 3 and 4, to join us for a morning of activities in the Michaelmas Term leading up to a joint Christingle service. This provides the opportunity for collaborative work in several disciplines and enhanced mutual understanding between pupils and staff of both schools.
A local academy participates in a number of Latin events at Beechwood Park which extends the learning opportunities and experiences of their pupils and develops understanding between the pupils.
Beechwood Park hosted Lunar’s Magic Flute when 38 flautists from 15 schools, 11 of them in the maintained sector, came together for a workshop under the direction of professional musicians. This greatly enhanced the musical experience of all participants.
Beechwood Park has hosted football, netball, rounders and cross-country tournaments for local schools, both state and independent, providing sporting opportunities in a competitive environment. Coaching is also provided.
Beechwood Park has opened its swimming pool to a number of local state schools on a termly basis, providing teaching and lifeguarding. This provides opportunities to local children which who only have limited access to such facilities.
Liaison has been established with teachers from local schools to share experiences of our forest school thus sharing ideas on outdoor learning opportunities and facilities.
The Governors of Beechwood Park School are committed to broadening access to the School by offering to eligible parents/guardians means-tested financial support with the payment of school fees. Such support is known as a bursary and bursaries may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% of tuition fees payable, depending on the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants.
