As part of our work as a designated HanBan Confucius Classroom we have continued to provide Mandarin lessons for local primary schools. Our HanBan teachers have visited five local primary schools in total during 2018 working with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils delivering courses in Mandarin and Chinese Culture. The response from the schools has been very positive with two schools committing to a third year of the programme and the addition of a further school to the programme for the first time at the beginning of the Autumn Term.
Each year our Oxbridge and medical applicants travel to the Sixth Form Centre of a local Academy to join their equivalent students to take part in mock interviews conducted jointly by staff members from both schools. The process continues to be viewed by staff and students alike as one which was enhanced by the sharing of expertise.
