Our year 12 have run a reading project with a state school year 7 group. Year 7 reading ages have increased, staff have found the extra help useful and our students have benefitted from seeing the difference they can make and the opportunities they have.

We run various workshops and host conferences where year 10 students from local state schools visit to hear about possible career options, opportunities beyond the curriculum and use technology that is usually unavailable to students. They get to establish links with local employers.

We offer 100% scholarships to year 11 students at our state partnership school and other local schools, which have no sixth form. This provides a wealth of opportunities both academic and in leadership, extra curricular and university driven, which increase the prospects for these students. We are part of an independent school group which invest time and money in collaboration work with the maintained sector across the area to improve the breadth of opportunities for all students.

Sporting opportunities, whereby we run tournaments and competitions between primary state schools have increased opportunities for the students and offered leadership opportunities for ours. We send our students into local primary schools through our sports leaders programmes to support coaching. Exposure to a wider variety of schools, and in some cases any sporting competition, is an improvement on current provision.

We go into local primary school assemblies to offer talks and demonstrations on a wide range of areas from music performances to advice on transitioning into senior school to school life in Cambodia, where we have set up and sponsor a school.

Scholarships are available for entry into Years 7, 9, 10 and 12 for both internal and external candidates. They may also be considered for exceptional students entering at other stages.
