Year 5 STEM Challenge

It was a joy to host our Year 5 STEM Challenge Day on Tuesday 7 March - welcoming pupils from 9 different schools for a day of exciting maths & science challenges.

In the morning pupils explored thermal insulation and building 3D shapes strong enough to hold weight. For the final challenge of the day, the pupils needed their engineering hats on in order to build a geodesic dome. Once the basic shape was built they then had the opportunity to get creative and develop the dome further into a more complex shape of their choosing.

Pupils in attendance were all aged between 9-10 and from both independent and state schools.
