Working together on mental health and emotional wellbeing
Schools sharing a joint desire to build staff confidence in dealing with pupil mental health issues and helping to become more proactive in promoting and supporting emotional wellbeing. This is a teacher to teacher training project between Royal Grammar School and Harton Technology College.
Background
The opportunity for joint working emerged after Harton staff attended a mental health conference hosted by the RGS in September 2015.
RGS engaged expert Dick Moore who ran a session with students at the RGS which was followed by training for staff at Harton.
Impact
Schools monitor number and nature of interventions/forms of support needed for students and their efficacy.
