Virtual Mufti Day raises over £1000 for Kenyan Kindergarten
An Upper Sixth Downe House student organised our first ever virtual mufti day in aid of Kangemi Church School Kindergarten in Kenya.
The theme was ‘wacky fancy dress’ and the money raised supports the kindergarten where the student, who lives in Kenya, volunteers which is based in the slums of Nairobi. The money will go towards vital education resources like pens and paper as well as sanitation like clean water and toilets.
In total, over £1000 was raised.
Aims
The aim was to raise £500 for the kindergarten, but the final figure was over £1000.
Background
The student had a strong link to the Kindergarten as she is a volunteer there.
Impact
Over £1000 was raised.
