Sunrise Senior Living

Each Monday and Wednesday we send a group of volunteers to help at Sunrise.

Aims

A volunteering opportunity for our students as part of enrichment and D of E.

Background

The link was established around 20 years ago and has expanded over the years. Students have the opportunity to simply chat and make tea or to work with the staff in the high-dependency areas of the care home.

Resources

The school provides a bus and driver to transport the students. This is funded by the school.

Pupil Involvement

Year 9 upwards are involved.

Frequency

As well as the weekly visits we also send the choir to sing carols at Christmas and the Dance Club go over and perform once or twice a year.
