Sing Up Suffolk
RHS hosts Sing Up! Suffolk choral workshop every year for approximately 600 Year 5 and 6 primary school pupils. They join the school for an energy-filled, fun-packed vocal day directed by the hugely charismatic and renowned conductor – Dominic Peckham.
It proves to be an explosive, high-energy and inspirational day of singing and vocal exploration - a truly unforgettable experience for both pupils and staff. From Motown to Mozart, African street-songs to Chart Mash-Ups there is something for everyone.
Director of Music, Ed Allen says, “Dominic’s workshop encouraged the young singers to listen to one another and learn to understand the many aspects of ensemble singing and, following a morning of intense but fun coaching and rehearsing, everything came to together for a fantastic performance at the end of the afternoon attended by lots of parents – an incredible experience for all involved.
We received numerous letters of thanks from all the schools involved in the day and we hope to welcome many of them back next year."
