Mercer's Lectures

A series of 6-8 free public lectures are held at the school every year. Recent speakers have included adventurers Steve Backshall and Monty Halls; historians Dr David Starkey and Dr Lucy Worsley; journalists, Jeremy Bowen, Mariella Frostrup and Frank Gardner as well as sportsmen and women Nigel Owens, Heather Stanning, Alison Mitchell and Eddie, ‘The Eagle’ Edwards.

The 2019-20 lecture programme includes Amanda Owen, Ant Middleton, Alison Weir, The Marian Consort, Michael Portillo and Candice Brown.

Publicity material for the programme is distributed widely in the local community through to schools, libraries, bookshops and community groups.
