Mathematics Outreach
Dauntsey’s Dodecahedron competition is a maths competition for year 7 and below, open to all schools in the wider region (we usually have around 1000 entrants each year). There is a multiple choice preliminary round, where we send schools the papers and answers and they run the round themselves. They then put the scores and names of their top pupils on a form on our website. We then pick the top 30 to 40 pupils and invite them to a finals day here at school. On finals day, they complete two investigations and a multiple choice round, plus they do a maths trail around the school site. At the end of the day, we announce an overall winner who gets to host the trophy at their school for the year, plus the pupil gets an individual plaque to keep. We have just completed the 30th year of the competition.
