Local Primary Schools Football Tournaments

Chandlings works closely with the West Oxford and Abingdon School Partnerships offering 2 football tournaments a year for West Oxford and Abingdon Primary Schools.
The events we offer are:
Year 5 and 6 Mixed Football
Year 3 and 4 Mixed Football

Aims

Through these football tournaments, Chandlings aims to bring opportunities to schools to enjoy a different style of competition and to open up competition to keen footballers whose schools might otherwise not be able to offer fixtures on a regular basis. 

Background

The Head of Sport at Chandlings has worked closely with West Oxford and Abingdon School Partnership Coordinator, a Sports teacher from King Alfred's School Wantage over many years.

Resources

Use of school fields and equipment. Support from teaching staff and coaches including the school nurse. 

Pupil Involvement

There is a Year 5 and 6 tournament and a Year 3 and 4 tournament. Last year there was on average around 90 pupils at each event.

Frequency

 Each tournament takes place annually.
