Hockey coaching for Long Sutton Primary

8 week Hockey training programme for pupils at Long Sutton Primary.

Aims

The aim of this project was to share sporting expertise with this partner school to encourage their pupils to have a love of sport and fitness. 

Background

Soma Singh, Director of Sport, works closely with local schools offering a variety of sporting activities and coaching throughout the year. His sports team each take on a project including athletics, hockey, rugby and cricket. 

Resources

A member of our sports department took a weekly hockey session with a group of pupils. They used our sports hall, our new astro hockey pitches and LWC sports equipment. 

Impact

Pupils were taught an introduction to the game of hockey and basic skills. They then played a sports hockey fixture against Bentley Primary.
